I can’t wrap my head around this kind of mental breakage. Why would any company DELIBERATELY make it harder for me to give them dollars for their product? I won’t buy cable.. It’s not worth the money to me. But I would gladly pay HBO $50 up front for the right to watch episodes of the newest season of Game of Thrones at 1080P within a day or two of their first airing. I would even directly pay them a $15/month subscription fee for the ability to watch their content on-demand like Netflix. I can’t imagine they actually make $15/month in fees from every subscriber…

What the co-president of HBO doesn’t realize is that the people have spoken. They will either vote with their wallets or with their BitTorrent clients, and if you’re not giving them an option to pay for the goods they want… Well.. They really do only have themselves to blame.
